A bit of Danish in a basket

As I wrote about a month ago, I had a visit from home and they brought me so old Anders And magazines to make baskets of. Now for non-Danes Anders And is the Danish name for Donald Duck and the magazines are small stories about Donald Duck and all his friends... So far it's been to these two baskets but more are in the making and you'll be able to find them on the shop page very soon :o)

The reason my blog has been quiet....

So I haven't been very good at updating my blog these last weeks and I'm not pleased with it at all, but all my evening have been occupied by creating a new addition to the family.

Everybody, meet Bellatrix! She's about 45cm tall and made from an old certain :) Her frame is shaped around a wodden stool and with wheels under the legs you can take her (or she can take you) where ever you wish. She's the birthday present for my little girl that turns 2 in a few weeks! Before she gets presented to her she will however need a saddle and a harness to ensure safe and comfortable travel.

Retro cuddlies

During a little look through some of my mother's books from the happy 70's I found the patterns for these lovely cuddly toys. They're so soft and squeeze, that especially the owl also does a great job as a pillow. Both are made of old clothes or pillow cases that were broken but had too nice patterns just to be thrown out. I did actually have quite a few both elephants and owls but most of them found new homes a couple of weeks ago when I had a stall at the local church to raise money for MacMillan cancer research so these two poor ones now have to feel lonely until I've filled out the new ones that are waiting on my desk! :o)

I can keep your secrets.....

This little box is about 15x15 cm and is the latest of my paper weaving projects. Inspired by Helene's many designs at Når genbrug bliver guld I decided it was time to try and make something else than just normal baskets... Even tho it still need a bit of adjusting I quite like the round look and I think I have to try and make a bigger one now to store all my wool in :)

Cherity run...

Went for a run in the local cherity shops yesterday looking for fabric. Even tho I did get a few pillow cases it was in the storage department I was really lucky...  A square gold tin box and a set with 3 round tins and a matching tray!

Visit from home...

Haven't posted inhere in ages! I've had the pleasure of having my dad and stepmum visiting me for a week so I've been way too busy having fun with the family to even turn the computer on! It's doesn't mean tho (as you can see here), that everything creative have been forgotten...
Monkey for my daughter made by my stepmum

Autumn fun collected on a lovely day out in St. Fagans

3D owl puzzle I decided to try and make one evening, it's really cute but I have to admit I got 2 pieces left over that I didn't manage to put in their rightful place... Now I just need to make a big stencil of all the pieces to get my husband to make a big version of it for the garden!!!

Bracelets made of wrapping paper...

The buttom of a basked made of the paper from the tea my dad and stepmum drink. However they only use 4 bags each in total so it'll be at least 3 months before I can finish it :)

With some biking innertube left over from when I made the handle to the rubber bag I decided to experiment with making bracelets. It's really simple and great fun for both kids and grown ups. I wll try and see if I can't put in a tutorial one of these next day if anyone else feels like having a go.

Here's first bash but I already have several ideas for more, so guess I'll have to pay the local bike shop a visit to see if they have any spare broken tubes...
